In this last example, Pluto in the sixth house of the Mindanao Earthquake chart was representative of a hidden fault. According to the USGS, the earthquake resulted from “oblique reverse faulting at shallow depth.”
The December 2, 2023, M 7.6 earthquake off the southeast coast of the island of Mindanao, Philippines occurred as a result of oblique reverse faulting at shallow depth ~75 km west of the Philippine Trench. Focal mechanism solutions indicate that rupture occurred as a result of shallow reverse faulting consistent with subduction interface fault. Pluto’s proximity to the seventh house cusp (DC) is indicative of the shallowness of the faulting. I have observed from other charts that the proximity of an outer planet to the DC can serve as a determining factor. In the June 14, 2025 chart, Uranus in the 6th house, close to the DC was an indicator of the amount of surprise a violent event occurring on that day would be – DC, complete surprise; 6th house cusp, little surprise.
